Roof Inspections

Whether you are a roofing company, managing a building, working with solar panels, inspecting for an insurance claim, or any other number of reason, it makes sense to consider using drones for roof inspections for a range of benefits, including maximum safety, reduced costs, and saving time.

Until recent innovations, there was just no way around it. If you wanted to do a proper roof inspection and analysis, you had to:

  • Climb up on a ladder.
  • Walk the roof.
  • Identify and notate obvious areas of interest.
  • You might take photographs.
  • Even take core samples for the final roof report and remediation plan

Our drones can inspect the most difficult to reach areas, safely and efficiently to provide you with imagery you need. We can also provide you with accurate measurements using data from the images combined with the latest measurement software.

Photogrammetry 3D Modelling and Mapping

Using the latest Mavic Enterprise drones we can create 2D and 3D models of your building or site which you can upload into your building information model, for your building safety case.

With the use of geo referenced ground control points, GNSS receiver combined with RTK technology the models we create are highly accurate.

We can produce your footage and data in your required format to suit your business requirements.

Pet Search and Rescue

We can launch our drones rapidly within minutes of arriving at your site. If you have lost a pet we can launch our drone up to 120 metres which can cover acres of land in minutes

Our thermal imagery cameras will detect heat sources that we can then zoom in to capture live video or photographs to quickly identify your precious pet. Used in conjunction with apps such as what three words we are able to pin point the precise location of any heat source detected.

We can also use our speaker attachments which will play a recorded message or siren to alert the site of a rescue mission.

Health and Safety

We possess both A2CoC and GVC accreditation and operate under strict rules of the CAA. We follow systematic procedures throughout your flight to ensure the maximum safety measures are imposed and all identified hazards are controlled to as low as reasonably practicable.

We are also insured with Coverdrone to EC785/2004 and are Gold Certified Members of the DroneSafe Register.

We are also NEBOSH qualified so we can support you with Health and Safety audits and inspections, using our drones.

Construction Site Inspections

We are able to carry out a survey to your site and provide you with the data you now need by law under the Building Safety Act.

We can provide you with photos, videos or reports to ensure your site is running, effectively, efficiently and is most importantly safe.

Solar Panel Thermal Inspections

Solar panel inspections are essential for ensuring the optimal performance, efficiency, and longevity of solar energy systems. Drones have emerged as a game-changing technology for conducting solar panel inspections, offering a safer, more efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional inspection methods. Here's how drones are used for solar panel inspections:

1. Aerial Photography and Videography: Drones equipped with high-resolution cameras can capture detailed aerial images and videos of solar panels, allowing inspectors to identify potential issues such as cracks, damage, soiling, or debris accumulation. These visual inspections provide a comprehensive view of the entire solar array, highlighting areas that may require maintenance or repairs.

2. Thermal Imaging: Advanced drones can be equipped with thermal imaging cameras to detect temperature variations across the solar panels. This technology can identify "hot spots" or malfunctioning cells that may indicate electrical issues, poor connections, or potential defects affecting the panels' performance. Thermal imaging can help pinpoint problems early, preventing further damage and optimizing energy production.

3. Close-Up Inspections: Drones can access hard-to-reach areas of the solar array, such as rooftops or elevated installations, without the need for ladders, scaffolding, or specialized equipment. This allows inspectors to conduct close-up inspections of individual panels or components safely and efficiently, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.

4. Data Analysis and Reporting: The data collected by drones can be processed and analyzed using specialized software to generate comprehensive inspection reports. These reports include annotated images, thermal maps, and recommendations for maintenance or repairs, providing valuable insights to solar operators, maintenance teams, and system owners.

5. Regular Monitoring: Drones enable regular and proactive monitoring of solar panel installations, allowing for timely detection of issues and proactive maintenance. By conducting routine inspections, potential problems can be identified and addressed promptly, maximizing system uptime and energy production.

6. Cost-Effective Solution: Using drones for solar panel inspections is often more cost-effective than traditional inspection methods, as it eliminates the need for expensive equipment, labor-intensive processes, and downtime associated with manual inspections. Drones can quickly cover large areas, reducing inspection times and overall costs.

7. Safety: Drones provide a safer alternative for inspecting solar panels, especially in challenging or hazardous environments. By minimizing the need for personnel to work at height or in potentially dangerous conditions, drones help mitigate risks and ensure the safety of inspectors and maintenance crews.

8. Documentation and Compliance: Drone inspection reports serve as valuable documentation for compliance with industry standards, regulations, and warranty requirements. Proper documentation of inspections can help solar operators demonstrate adherence to maintenance protocols and ensure warranty validity, protecting their investments and ensuring system reliability.

In conclusion, drones have transformed the way solar panel inspections are conducted, offering a modern, efficient, and reliable solution for maintaining the performance and integrity of solar energy systems. With their aerial capabilities, advanced imaging technologies, and data analysis capabilities, drones provide solar operators, maintenance teams, and system owners with the tools they need to maximize energy production, minimize downtime, and extend the lifespan of their solar installations.
